Smartphones

My opinion on smartphones, App an Apple

Nowdays, what's busy life without a smartphone? What's a day without Internet on your cellphone?

Today, Smartphones are a BIG DEAL, not only for the improvement in technology each one of it provides but the help they support in the human daily-life.

In fact, a simple cellphone used to make calls and send text messages 10 years ago is now switched to an all-things portable device with tons of memory and processing power. Today our cellphones are way more than a portable phone, they are our portable computer, notebook, alarm, reminder and even portable console!

We don't leave our homes without our cellphone anymore, society needs to stay connected to what's happening in the world!
Smartphones came to make our lifes easier and in a certain way more intuitive. I don't use a smartphone just for the sake of it, I use it because I like it and it helps me in tons of ways. There has to be a certain "relationship" between the user and its smartphone, otherwise we wouldn't even take full advantage of it. Smartphones help us to stay in touch with our friends, family, co-workers and more! Being on the bus or subway with the Facebook turned on on our phone is amazing! I know its been quite a while since we have 3G network but I still find it completely amazing! And now with 4G...wow! Information nowadays is fast and "big" in terms of content. I just love how breathtaking mobile tech is today!

Mobile technology is growing everyday in me, just wanted to share this quick opinion on Smartphones!

Do you love mobile technology? Are you crazy for all sorts of Smartphones? Which ones do you love? Leave your comments on the section below! Stay with us for new content, news and opinions on all-things Apple and Mobile technology!

Steve Jobs

One year ago, a great mind passed away. Today, apple.com was dedicated to Steve Jobs.

When the movie regarding Steve Jobs finishes, a message from Tim Cook is presented:

A message from Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

Steve’s passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place.
One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. No company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself. Our values originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future.
I’m incredibly proud of the work we are doing, delivering products that our customers love and dreaming up new ones that will delight them down the road. It’s a wonderful tribute to Steve’s memory and everything he stood for.

Tim

Steve Jobs revolutionised the technology as we know it today. From the Macintosh to the iPhone.

Adobe Reader XI made for tablets brings cloud services and productivity features

In an announcement made yesterday, Adobe has unveiled the next iteration of its Acrobat and Reader software. Along with the new desktop software comes updated mobile applications, which bring some major enhancements, like the ability to edit PDF files, modify paragraph layouts and images, as well as other objects through a newly-introduced design tool.

(via talkandroid.com)

Adobe Unveils Next Generation Acrobat XI with New Cloud Services
Powerful New PDF Solution Addresses Productivity Gap Across Devices and Platforms
SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today unveiled Adobe® Acrobat® XI software with cloud services, a powerful new solution that rises to today’s complex document challenges. The industry standard for PDF software will now feature complete PDF editing and export to Microsoft PowerPoint; touch-friendly capabilities on tablets; and newly integrated cloud services, including sophisticated Web contracting with Adobe EchoSign® and forms creation, data collection and analysis with Adobe FormsCentral. Acrobat XI additionally supports IT departments with seamless Microsoft Office and SharePoint integration, easy deployment, applications virtualization and robust application security to help provide a low cost of ownership and sound return on investment.
“They need a solution that enables them to collaborate with others inside and outside the firewall while at the same time meeting IT and organizational requirements for streamlined management, application security, and secure delivery of information – all with a high ROI.”
Products included in this release are: Acrobat XI Pro, Acrobat XI Standard, Adobe Reader® XI and newly integrated document services, Adobe FormsCentral and Adobe EchoSign.
“The compounding complexity of work has never been more pressing. As the number of mobile devices and the use of cloud services surge, information workers must be empowered to work more effectively with documents anywhere on any device,” said Melissa Webster, program vice president, IDC. “They need a solution that enables them to collaborate with others inside and outside the firewall while at the same time meeting IT and organizational requirements for streamlined management, application security, and secure delivery of information – all with a high ROI.”
The mounting productivity inefficiencies and cost of document-based challenges are highlighted in a recent global IDC white paper. A typical company with 1,000 employees has a productivity cost of US$15.9 million annually, the white paper calls out, and addressing these inefficiencies would be tantamount to hiring an additional 213 people.
With Adobe Acrobat XI, new and improved features and functionality for business professionals now include:
Edit PDF files, modify paragraphs, images, and objects by simply clicking and dragging using the new, intuitive Edit Text and Images tool. Arrange and visually merge select content and multiple documents into one organized PDF file, while retaining source file integrity.
Expedite document and Web contract approvals from weeks to hours with electronic signatures using the integrated Adobe EchoSign electronic signature service. Simplify forms creation, distribution and results analysis using the included Adobe FormsCentral desktop app.
Enhanced mobile capabilities. Work with PDF files across tablets and smartphones in touch-friendly Adobe Reader to annotate and add comments, as well as fill in, sign and save forms.
Save PDF documents as PowerPoint, Word or Excel files or reuse parts of or entire PDF files as Microsoft Office documents and Web pages without retyping or need to reformat.
Improved protection of all PDF files created from Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to help prevent copying, editing, or printing without permission.
The new and improved IT features and functionality now enable IT professionals to:
- Standardize on an easy to use, full-featured, consistent, trusted PDF Reader now with full support for iPads and Android tablets. Additionally, deliver Acrobat XI and Reader XI as a centrally managed, touch-friendly, virtual application with new support for Microsoft App-V via Citrix XenApp.
- Integrate Adobe Acrobat XI more seamlessly with Microsoft Office and Microsoft SharePoint, enabling users to do more with PDF in an Office or SharePoint environment.
Streamline deployment and maintenance with free Adobe tools to aid configuration and installation, as well as enhanced support for Microsoft SCCM/SCUP and Apple Remote Desktop.
- Help mitigate risk and protect systems and data with industry-leading security technology, in addition to the Adobe PDF Whitelist Framework, allowing selective enablement of JavaScript for both Windows and Mac OS. Easily deliver multi-step PDF file preparation and security measures using the Action Wizard to help ensure organizational consistency.

Apple - iPhone 5 - TV Ad - Cheese

Introducing the iPhone 5. Now taking beautiful photos in panorama is as simple as saying "cheese".

Apple iPhone 5 TV Ad - Thumb

Apple - iPhone 5 - TV Ad - Thumb

Introducing the iPhone 5, with 4-inch Retina display. It's the perfect size for everything -- including your thumb.

"iOS Maps another internet services blunder for Apple" says NYT

A New York Times report on Friday stated that Apple's new software based iOS Mapps app and its corresponding service is another mark of the company's lack of focus in giving reliable internet-based services to the users, and also reveals that the original iPhone wasn't planned to have mapping software until mere weeks before its debut.

iPhone 5 costs aproximaly 41 cents per year to charge

A new study states that Apple's new iPhone 5 costs only 41 cents a year to recharge if you do it once a day. This new estimate shows that it is less than a third of its sibling, the iPad.

This is assuming that iPhone 5 owners will recharge their device once a day for the entire year:

The metric, put out this week by energy analytics company Opower, is based on the assumption that iPhone owners will recharge their device once a day for the entire year:
Phone 5: consumed 9.5 watt-hours to charge, taking 1 hour and 50 minutes. Maximum wattage was 6.3 watts, with an average of approximately 5.0 W. Multiplying 0.0095 kWh/day by 365 days = 3.47 kWh per year. Annual charging cost is projected to be $0.41/year.
(via news.cnet.com)

Power use on today's newest smartphones -- it's about the price of two text messages.
 (via Opower)

Opower stated that, regarding this subject,  iPhone won against its main competition, Samsung's Galaxy S3, which is estimated to cost 53 cents a year to be charhed due to its larger battery.
